feeling nostalgic for home [ but not for long ]

Originally I had planned on visiting the place I spent the last five years of my life to see old friends, get my dunkin donuts fix [seriously, they need them on the west coast!], and dance the night away with the rest of my sorority for their 20th annual ball. Instead, I'm spending my flight money on our unfortunately increased rent as we move from a huge two bedroom apartment to a definitely small but still spacious studio. The downside to California's mostly amazing weather and sceneries.

[more of these pretty blooms in the middle of winter]

Since five-ish years ago when I started college, I seemed to have become a mama's girl. My appreciation for her came out of nowhere and our relationship grew over the years. That's why I was especially excited when we decided that she would fly me to Houston for about a week during mid-March. My hours got cut big time [temporily] due to a drop in sales. I figured why not take advantage while I can, and other people could use the hours I'll be giving up during that time period. And it will also be my besties' spring break, so I will get the opportunity to see them as well!

Right after I get back, we will be moving into our more expensive but cozier home right across the street. That will be something else to look forward to. =)
