February has finally rolled in at last! January could not leave any faster. Just one more full month of this dreadful winter weather. Rochester, I'm really tired of this game of "let's snow and drop the temperature to below zero!", it's time to bring the temperature up and the sun out, thank you very much.
Speaking of the weather, as you know, groundhog's day was just yesterday. Yes, is a ridiculous holiday. Yes, it is when groundhogs get to predict for us whether winter will last for another six weeks or spring will come early. And yes, they really do decide this by seeing their shadows. Or not seeing their shadows. I mean, what if the sun is not even out in the first place. Really, on sunny-less days, we don't even see our own freaking shadows.
Regardless of this ri-donk-ulous holiday, it was actually nice to read that four out of five groundhogs in the northeastern states, did not see their shadows. Meaning, spring will come early! The one groundhog that did see his shadow was the infamous Punxsatawney Phil. But then again, according to sources, he is 123-year-plus old (thank to an "elixir of life," served every summer at the annual Groundhog Picnic, of which there are curiously no photographs). Not only that, but apparently he has been wrong more than half of the time. Therefore, he is less reliable than a freaking penny. Take that you little old fart furry-littlebutohsocuteanyway-groundhog! Spring will come sooner. The other four said so! I bet they are way more accurate in their youthful ways.
This what I want to believe, so please don't sway my thinking. Spring will come early, spring will come early, spring will come early. Feel free to join me in this mindless chant, you know you want to see the cute baby animals coming out earlier this year and flowers blooming.
Haha! Aw! Spring will come early for you. ;) So strange...here it's summer and hot as all heck. I'm actually really looking forward to Autumn and winter - they're my favourite seasons. Also, I went the shops yesterday to buy a couple of tshirts and I saw some winter clothes that I fell in love with!
